About Rebecca

Rebecca | SimplePracticalBeautiful.comHi, I’m Rebecca. I am a homemaker. I decorate, sew, refinish furniture, upcycle, build, bake, knit, design, paint, and everything else that goes into making a home happy and fulfilling. I even clean every once in a while. I love the process of creating, from planning and imagining possibilities to adding the perfect detail to feeling proud of my finished work.

I am blessed to have an amazing husband who dreams and plans and works and creates right beside me. We have two remarkable daughters that add their own creative spin to everything and a toddler who keeps us all laughing, when he’s not screaming.

Here’s our most recent family movie.

We live in a lovely little ranch-style home built in the 1950s in the suburbs of San Diego. Almost everything about the house is original, including the lime green shag carpet and the mint green bathroom sink. Some of it is awesome, and some of it, well, needs to be welcomed into the twenty-first century.

This is our plan.

Well, not really because that’s somebody else’s house. We can’t live there. But it’s one of the many beautiful mid-century houses that inspires me and guides me as I improve my own home.

Simplepracticalbeautiful.com exists so I can share with you the many projects I work on in my quest to make my home more simple, more practical and efficient, and more beautiful. I’m also going to share some friends’ project that I find simply inspiring. I hope you are inspired too.
